Seriously. Maybe we could chip in and buy them an espresso maker to help them work a bit faster.

Well, I'm back in the US while my wife and son are waiting for me in Ontario. We decided that me coming back and working for a bit would be better. I hate being apart from them them. :( After having done it before when going through the US immigration system to marry my wife, this second go around is just killing me...

Start on december already! (and print out those COPRs that people are waiting too long for!!)

Sorry to complain folks

No need to apologize. We're all impatient and tired of waiting....
Common December!

Yeah, I'm freaking out, too. I managed to get an extension to stay in my condo until the end of July, but now something came out that says that dependents over 19 years of age won't be admitted as of January, 2014. My daughter supposedly got in under the wire with an application before she turned 22. But if they don't approve her, they don't approve me, and I'm continuing down that rabbit hole of worry. There has been practically no movement in the past few weeks, what is going on?!!

We have almost exactly the same situation... it feels terrible. We spent 9 months apart waiting for my approvals to go to the US a few years ago, and now here we are again... my husband is still in the US in order to keep us afloat financially, while I am here in Canada. Trying hard to be patient (late November filers), but it feels even harder this time. COME ON OTTAWA!!! There has been little/no movement in a long time from that office.

I don't see our frustration as complaining... just sadness and frustration in being away from our loved ones.

Oh boy, I was just peeking to say hi. Come on Ottawa!! I'm with Ivan, they need an espresso maker. Regular coffee is like water to them.
I'm still waiting for my permanent resident card but there are hiccups we encounter once in a while. I'm just fed up with paperwork and starting a new life doesn't take away that process as small as it can get.
Hugs for everybody

I'm with you buddy. I've been through the US immigration process as well. I dream of a time when we won't have borders.

Is there a verb form that goes along with cynicism? Like cynicize?

Usage: "Mine was a simple case, so I started out optimistic that I would get a visa relatively quickly, but Ottawa cynicized me."

"but Ottawa has caused me to become cynical"

That would work I think.

Good luck to you all!!

Take Care

Of course that works, but Ottawa deserves its own neologism. 8)

True. I am sure there are many readily available from most members!! However, posting them would cause them to get banned...

Hi Everyone,

We are waifs and strays, who fell thru the cracks somewhere between L.A. and Ottawa. . . . .

But we just got a mysteriously worded and informal-ish passport request from CPP-Ottawa.

This is what happened to us:

• Application for my son submitted June 2012
• Forwarded to L.A. August 2012
• Notified it was in L.A. September 2012
• . . . .then zero communication from anyone for eight months. . .
• Request for electronic case files, by us, May 2013
• Surprise formal email letter from Ottawa, last week, saying they'd asked for our passport and "Request for Medical" back in FEBRUARY --! -- and that we needed to comply by June 30th, or we'd basically get bounced back to square one
• Exchange of emails with Ottawa this week
• Cryptic email request from Ottawa: "Send your passport" and "medical extension days only a few days" (??)
• When asked for specific instructions, we are told, this morning: "Scan and email it."

So I just emailed the scanned PHOTO PAGE, only (along with their formally worded email from last week) to them just now.

Fingers crossed.

It sounds like they are going to extend the medicals.

Child sponsorships are usually pretty fast, but with the Buffalo shuffle, and then the balancing between LA and CPP-O things have been chaotic.

PPR is pretty much the end of the process at least, so you shouldn't have much longer to go!
