CPP-Ottawa

I received my CPR today! The Ottawa office has been nothing but pleasant, helpful, and informative since my application was transferred.

We are planning to 'flagpole' at the border this weeend! :D.

Thanks Ivan...... for the life of me, I couldn't find her (I think it's a her.... :P ) on the SS..... NOT ENOUGH COFFEE YET!!!

Okay, it's just going to be a crap day. My shoulder has flared up again and I can't move my head. Joy!

There isn't enough coffee in the world for this week, but Hnhkrk's receipt of COPR has brightened my morning. I thought Ottawa was going to hibernate until June.
 
Hi everyone, so my husband and I have finally made plans for him to land on May 27th. My question refers to what he's bringing with him. He doesn't have a lot of stuff just clothes TV golf clubs. Nothing worth a ton of money. We will be landing at the peace bridge near buffalo and we were just wondering what lists we need to prepare. We heard something about a B4 document? This forum has been so helpful in the Past so I'm hoping someone will be kind enough to chime in and help us out here. Little confused.

I applied through Ottawa in November, and on Friday (April 19) I got a request for a scanned copy of my passport. Was that the official request of passport? My husband mentioned this to a friend who sponsored her husband last year and this was her reply:
"I think Ottawa is probably gathering everything they need from you and then is going to send it abroad. The office that finalizes everything needs more pictures...immigration specific pictures not the same as passport pictures. the immigration photo is the one that will go on the PR card"

Is this the case? Help!!

Hi moidyn, My husband just landed from the U.S on April 14th. We were not even asked for a scanned copy of the passport. The next thing we knew E-CAS changed to Decision Made and a month later we received COPR in the mail. We were not asked for any extra pictures. They used one of the pictures we sent with the package. So, hey.... I would think that this is your official PPR request. Congrats!

That's your official PPR - next step is COPR! Ottawa issues the COPR using photocopies of passports if you are from a visa-exempt country (and will sometimes (rarely) use copies that you have included in your application). Congratulations!

Americans can drive Canadian cars. Canadians cannot drive American cars in Canada UNLESS it is a rental that is in their name. I can't remember exactly where it was posted, but I will search for it for you :)

Ok. thanks. that would be nice to know. Also, do you know if they take your U.S. driver's licence away when you get your Ontario driver's licence? The reason I am asking is because my husband has an enhanced US licence and it has other things on it (ex. hunting licence info, etc.) Can he ask for the actual licence back or does he have to give it up? tks again.

And yes, you have to give up your US DL for an Ontario one. His US hunting licence cannot be used in Ontario anyway so he would have to get an entirely new one for here.

Yeah!!! The cic's Easter break is finally over!!!
And so is the winter of our discontent,spring is finally here and so is my passport request!!!
