from what i know, you have 1 year to enter the country after medicals are done. if they haven't given you the visa in the meanwhile, they would normally have you undergo another medical, which woull be good for another year.

its more than 4 months after my medicals.Could you guys answer me some of the questions which I have, these questions always put me in confusion, they are as follows :
1) Do I need to do the work until I get my Permanant residency? Can I quit the job?
2) Is it possible to transfer my permanant residency file to Indian embassy?
3) If I am in india then I get a passport request can I send my passport from India to Canada?
4) On my online application status it is showing as ‘medicals have been recieved' , if it shows ‘medicals have been recieved in process' then does it mean that I can expect reply soon?
5) Could you guys tell me which month of processing going on?
6) Do I need to send my fingerprints?

plz share your answers, I m in a big trouble

I applied under the MPNP.

04 January 2012 - Submitted federal application
10 February 2012 - AOR, transferred to CPP-O and medical request

Hi mohni123,

I sent my application to Sydney, and I think it was sent straight to CPP-O.

I sent mine to Sydney too. Its been 4 months since my medical was done. And all I can see online is "Medical Results received." All my friends who received PR last year say its been too long. I am getting anxious now as my work permit expires on 13th December and although my employer has applied for LMO, even that takes a while to come.
But from your timeline it appears that I will get my PR next year only now.

Thanks,
Meenal

I believe you can get an extension on your visa if you've applied via the Provincial Nominee program, at least I know that for a fact for Ontario because two of my friends did that. OPNP provided a 1 year closed work permit (i.e. you cannot change employers) extension. Hope that helps. Please explore that option with PNP office.

First thanks everybody for sharing your experiences.

Arrived Canada on Work Permit May 2009
Granted Saskatchewan Nomination Feb 2011
Applied Buffalo May 2011 - Received June 2011
Medicals received November 2011

Since then nothing, so two weeks ago I e-mailed updating some minor changes to my circumstances and asking for reassurance that my file is there. Received automatic reply

"Please note: if the information requested is available on our website at ********,or your application is still within standard processing times (***********), we will not provide a response to your message." (links removed)

So I have four specific questions

1) Have others received notification that they have transferred to cpp-ottawa ?
2) Where are the standard processing times for cpp-o as there is not a link to to Ottawa office from the web address ?
3) Is it worth applying for "gcms" data or does that just P the CIC off.. and cause more work and delays ?
4) Work permit expires in July 2013 - Is best time to re-apply Jan 2013 ?

I'm sure the people here can help, so thanks in advance for your insights

I have exactly same time lines, and still no response :(

Granted Quebec Nomination Feb 2011
Applied Buffalo May 2011 - Received June 2011
Medicals received November 2011

I think, they have put and forgotten the application lot of this timeline. :(

Please update if somebody else has similar situation

Hi MM_Sask,

I believe, this 11 months processing time starts from the day they issue the AOR. Seniors, please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks,
Sarayu.
