Hi,

I understand that all the major changes to citizenship act will come into force by mid of 2015 .I do believe that we should expect to see a reduction in processing times by 2015-2016 due to technical pause in new applications for an year or so.. However, I was just wondering is there a possibility of improvement in processing times before that as well.

Are there any other changes/measures which could affect the processings positively i.e. replacement of 3 step process by 1 step process, spending of 44M$ funding for CIC , increase in fee since Feb 2014 etc .

Please share your thoughts .

Thanks

I think the process has been a lot faster since last year. I sent my application in April 2013, got a RQ in early November, and I sent it back two weeks later, had the test on March 18, and just got the notification for the ceremony in three weeks. I suspect that with the new law a lot of people will have to postpone their applications and the CIC workload will be decreased a bit and process everything somewhat faster, not to mention that according to the new law not all the applications must be approved by a citizenship judge
