Consultation and Medical Tests Fees in Waiting Period

Hi All,

I will be moving to Toronto with my pregnant wife in March. Does anyone have an idea about consultation and medical tests fees in the waiting period? Appreciate if anyone can provide us with numbers. The below were provided by St. Michael's hospital and I am not sure if this is the standard:

Clinic Visits: Initial; $346.00 + doctor fee
Blood Work - $25.00 to 150.00 per requisition
Ultrasound - $175.00 to $450.00

If you looked at the fees in the US these would look like nothing. As long as you don't have to pay for the cost of delivery I think the costs will end up being reasonable. The largest cost is the initial fee.
