Confused about NOC 6242 Cook - New NOC 6322

Hello Seniors,

I am helping my brother with his application but have got very confused now with the new NOCs which have come into effect.

Here goes.

Old NOC 6242 - still in the list of 29 occupations and cap not reached. However, this NOC does not exist in the New 2011 NOC list. So can he apply under 6242 or not?? The new NOC is 6322 for Cooks.

CIC instructs that all the application received until 31st Dec 2011 will be assessed based on old NOCs.

I couldn't find further instructions on the affected NOCs that are in the 29 occupation list.

Any ideas??

Use 6242 or 6322 on the outside/inside but be consistent. CIC will have a cheat sheet for the changed Numbers.

So if I use either one of the code and be consistent in the application that should be okay?

IMO you should mention the NOC code mentioned for the caps (previous one) and mention about this confusion in the coverletter

Hi Guys,

As I understood situation, Cooks are still in Skill Level B.

and old rule where No. 2 ( 6 2 4 2 ) was meaning Level B, is not valid any more....

you can check that in Matrix 2011
