I have received a Confirmation of Nomination letter from the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NB PNP), along with a Work Permit Support Letter. However, at the end of my nomination letter, it states: "This letter confirms that you have been nominated for the Provincial Nominee Program. Please note this nomination is not valid for Express Entry. Visit Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC) website for instructions and forms for applying for permanent residence. IRCC must receive your complete application before the nomination certificate expiry date."

What does this mean for my application process? How do I apply Online/Paper based ?

“This nomination is not valid for Express Entry”
It means:
  • Your nomination is for the base PNP stream, not aligned with Express Entry.
  • You cannot use your Express Entry profile to submit your permanent residence (PR) application.
  • Instead, you must apply for PR through the paper-based (non-Express Entry) process — though IRCC now uses online submission via the PR Portal even for paper-based streams.
Although it’s called a “paper-based” application, most base PNP PR applications are now submitted online via IRCC’s new PR Portal, not through your IRCC account or Express Entry profile.
Here’s how

Hi, please when did you receive your ITA, when did you submit your application and when did you receive your nomination? I submitted my application based on the ITA received last week.

Thanks.

Hi! I think they are processing applications based on the expiring work permit dates. Mine expires in July end and hence I think they processed it in a month. Similarly, a few of my friends are getting their Nominations based in the same order. I think if your work permit expires in a couple of months, they will process it sooner. If not, they might take a few more extra weeks. I got ITA in April, submitted my documents within 10 days and got ADR a week later, got my nomination in a month from the date I submitted my application, exactly in 34 days

Thanks for the insight. Please, what is ADR? My work permit expires in 3yrs so I guess I shouldn't be expecting it anytime soon.

No, I don't think so. You have loads of time. Don't worry in a couple of months maybe. But, whenever you get it do not waste even a single day. Prepare all your documents. It will be a non-express entry stream so you don't have to wait for an IRCC draw, and you can apply the same day. These guys are changing their rules daily. I know a lot of people(me included) who were all set for AIP and then they just allotted 3% to the retail sector. So, I would suggest you not to waste even a single day. Prepare and submit as soon as you can. ADR - additional document request. Good luck to you.

Thanks a lot! I would start filling the details and uploading the documents needed for the IRCC non-express entry via the Permanent Residence Portal since logins and draft applications does not expire or close. I would love to connect with you, I have a few other friends that have the same timeline with you.
