I am applying for common law sponsorship and am wondering if I need a new police certificate and how I can obtain one if I do need one.
I am a US citizen and have been living in Canada since October of 2018 and have not been anywhere else since. I got a police certificate before I left, but I've read they're invalid after 1 year. Is this correct?
My fiance and I waited one year so we could be common law to apply for sponsorship. We then were waiting for my visa extension to be approved. Now that we are ready to apply for sponsorship, I'm wondering how I can get a FBI clearance letter if I'm living in Canada? Can I print the card and do the fingerprints myself and mail them? Or where could I go to get fingerprinted? Also, do I need a background check from RCMP too now ? I think I read no but would like reassuring.
