Clarification Regarding Mother’s Name and Date of Birth for Visitor Visa Application

While applying for my Canada work permit and visa, my mother’s name was incorrectly recorded, and her date of birth was also mentioned incorrectly on my documents. Later, I updated my Indian passport with the correct mother’s name. I have now become a Canadian citizen and have canceled my Indian passport. And while applying for a Canadian passport, there was no option for parent’s name/info. I also submitted a webform regarding the same but haven’t got any response from them.


My sibling is planning to apply for a visitor visa (her Spouse as main applicant), and I want to ensure that there are no issues related to these past discrepancies. My sibling’s documents already have the correct mother’s name so the updated information is not shared with IRCC yet.

• Correct name: Vishnu Kanti
• My mother’s date of birth was incorrectly mentioned during my work permit application but her official documents show the correct date.

Please advise on the actions needed to file my sibling’s visitor visa while addressing this situation, so that the past discrepancies in my documents do not create any complications.
