Friends.. I have few questions .. I am in Regina and done with test, interview in Saskatoon and status shows Decision Made.. Would my oath be in Regina or Saskatoon ?
Secondly, What is the current batch who are getting Oath letters like last person who recieved Oath letter what was his/her test date ? so that we may get an Idea when are we likely to get our letters.
Third thing, we can see saskatoon ceremonies schedule on CIC website but not for Regina. Is there a way to find out when are next scheduled ceremonies for Regina residents ?
Congratulations on passing the test and getting to the final stage of your application. Your oath will most likely be in Regina unless they can't schedule a date and get a location in Regina.it totally depends on what your case officer wants to do.

You can see future possible oath dates @http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contact_us/offices/itinerant.asp go to page 2 for Regina.

Started processing application - Sept 4th 2015
Notice to write test sent Nov 5th 2015
Test - December 9th - passed 20/20
DM - Jan 3rd 2016 (ecas updated)
Notice to take Oath - Sent Jan 7th 2016 (ecas updated on the 9th)
Oath Date - Feb 11, 2016

Its interesting to note that in my case the update for DM and Notice of Oath both seemed to happen over the weekend. in both instances I logged in on Friday afternoon and there was no update and on Sunday there was. i.e. on Jan 1st, 2016 it still showed in process and on Jan 3rd it showed DM.....so I don't think that Tuesday is the only day they update.......

Hello Guys,
I have a confusion about residency time period for applying citizenship. As CIC website shows that You must have been physically present in Canada as a permanent resident for at least 1,460 days during the six years immediately before the date of your application. It means I have to complete six years in Canada then I will be eligible for applying or as soon as I spend 1,460 days in a row would be fine? I came to Canada in March 2012 and have been staying here. Can I apply now or wait for six years?

I believe you have to complete 6 years living in Canada. Out of six years, should have minimum 1460 days presence in Canada.

Actually it means you need to complete 1460 days (4 years) within the 6 years before the date of your application....so by March 2016 you should be ok to apply as long as you have not left Canada.

Good luck and once you apply it should take about a year to complete the process. Good luck.

Just thought I would check in so that this thread is easier for me to find. My wife is still a year away from applying but we are in Saskatoon and will get more active as the time gets closer.

I first posted on this thread a few weeks ago and said that I only did that so I could easily find the thread and that my wife was still at least a year away. Well that all changed this week with the announcement of the government introducing a bill to change the 4/6 rule to 3/5 and the return of pre PR time. Taking into account the pre PR time and our days out of Canada since PR we hit 1095 days today. Thank you Justin Trudeau! I realize that this is not law at this time but I will be ready to submit the day it does become law.

As everybody knows, I cleared my CIC test last year on august 5 in Hamilton and I applied onNovember 2014., its been over 6 months since have passed the test, I have not heard from CIC, as per online, I shoud get the Oath in 6 months, unfortunately, I have not received the oath invitation yet, When I called them, they said, everything is good in my file, they started a back ground/security check on February 9 this year, a decision will be made soon. I am wondering if anyone knows what is back ground/Security check and How long it takes?

Hi all...

Just letting you know, that my son and I got our oath ceremony date....it will be on March 23... got the update on my eCas last March 7th that CIC sent my invitation last March 4..... almost 3 months from my test date (Dec.16 )when I got this update.....CIC officer said 2-4 months anyways. Glad our citizenship application journey will be over soon and Saskatoon office is moving along with our papers.

Very best of luck to those waiting :) :) :)
