are you a single applicant? were you employed all the time or unemployed? have you stayed out of Canada for a long time? what do you think is the reason behind giving you a RQ?

thanks and good luck

Hi, my time line is: I applied for citizenship in August 2011
They sent me the acknowledging letter in August 2011.
Citizenship test was in June 2013 in Regina
I am still waiting for the oath letter. My waiting time is more than 27 months. I called the cic many times and they finally contacted the Saskatoon office two weeks ago, they said everything is fine with my application and they just had to choose the date for the ceremony. But no one has an idea how long it could take.

Or else check below link, as I noticed Saskatoon is not on the itinerant list. At my test interview in S'toon I was told that the S'toon oath ceremony is pretty much at the discretion of the regional senior officer; so the ceremony dates do not fall in the formal cic listings. It appears though that this office is well behind with an extended oath waiting list in excess of 3-4 months. Not sure why they don't just schedule more ceremonies...
I am yet to hear from them regarding a ceremony; my ecas was updated last week, and apparently all is approved and good to go; just waiting for ceremony appointment...

Today I called cic again , and they said that they got an answer from Saskatoon. Saskatoon's office said that my application is ceremony ready and they just has to choose the date form my ceremony. The agent told me that is because they have only one office and they move from city to city to hold citizenship ceremony, his explanation was the problem is because I don't live near some bigger city and they don't have that much people for the ceremony in my area. I had to lough. Then I asked him if he knows that in Saskatchewan they have only two cities where they hold ceremonies: Regina and Saskatoon. He said that I will be scheduled for the next ceremony, probably in January.

Hello members,

I have sent my app. (adult and child) to Sydney and have a confirmation of delivery dated Sept.19 2013 signed by a person M CHACHEVDA. My application was previously returned due to some school records were missing. No responses yet. I am a bit worried

Thanks for your comments

Finally; timeline is now complete :D. Only thing that made my application non-standard was a fingerprint request (submitted digitally):

  • We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on December 15, 2011.
  • We started processing your application on November 22, 2012.
  • We sent you a notice on September 9, 2013 to appear and write the citizenship test on September 24, 2013.
  • We sent you a notice on December 18, 2013 to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on January 16, 2014.

All the best everyone.
