Hi everybody - Sorry this is my second posting. First one went in Mar 2012 thread.

Quick update for those who had their tests in May 2012. I had mine on 28 May 2012 at Glen Erin, Mississauga.

Here's today's online application status "We sent you a notice on September 12, 2012 to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on September 21, 2012 at 9:00 AM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us". It was a good surprise, because it was still showing 'in process' ....

Good luck everybody

Nope, it would be fine. I was at the test today. CIC just looks up to the day, when you applied for citizenship for calculating the number of days of present.

Guys I have written a test today, everything went well, but I got an RQ.

I am wondering if any one can tell me, how to request records from CBSA and OHIP. I lived in Nova scotia too for an year and half, how can I get records of health department from Nova Scotia?

Greatly appreciate your help.

Thanks

Are they giving too many RQ'S?????

Polar bear,

I am self employed ( IT consultant ) never had a full time job, ( that's how it always works in IT ) that triggered an RQ for me. I think, we are paying for few people screwing up and getting the citizenship wrongfully.

I was told at the center, my processing time just got pushed to 8 - 12 months delay after submitting the RQ.

Hi,

Please check this link for CBSA and OHIP records. Do you have any US visas (expired or valid) in your passport? I have received RQ in April 2012 and already mailed all documents to CIC.

Yes, I have lived in USA, before I applying Canada PR and I have US visa ( b1 / b2 ) in that passport.

Is there any update on your case after submitting the paper work?

hi muppala,

did u mention in the citizenship application that you were unemployed for certain period of time?

or

in the interview did u mention that u don't have a job? that might have triggered an RQ !!!

Polar Bear,

no, by the grace of god, I was never unemployed. I told the same, I was always self employed as IT consultant.

now unemployed / self employed all coming up in the same question I guess for RQ :)

No, there is no update after submitting the documents. It looks like it will take long time at lease add 1 year time.

I was also in USA on H1 visa before coming to Canada, but after moving to Canada I never traveled to USA as I don't have any valid visa.
It looks like USA visa triggers the RQ.

Thanks
IBM.

Hi Muppala,

Instead of using the word self employed, you should have told you are working.

Ok, Whatever happened is past,

Send your RQ package as soon as possible.

Instead of becoming canadian citizen in 2012, you are going to become citizen in 2013 :)

just 1 year, wait it will go very fast :)

Keep in touch with the forum :)
