When they need to take longer, they usually will also respond at the end of the 30 days saying they need more time (which by statute is 30 more days).

Hi. Is Security chexk sth included in Background check or it is sth additional. When BG is green, does that mean security is passed too?

I have submitted my citizenship application on July 24, 2024
Completed and passed my citizenship exam on October 4, 2024
Submitted Background check #2 back in October 2025.
Reached out to MP for further assistance with my application and they were told that my application is stuck at background check. There is no timeline for next steps.
What should I do? What are my options to expedite this?

You just have to wait more.
A lot of applications in your situation get finalized in, roughly, 2 years and a half, and for the vast majority of them within 3 years. So, just wait, there's a high chance you're a citizen in less than a year.
Consider talking to a lawyer if it's not the case by then tho.
Some people said 2024 first 2 quarters application are clearing up, so maybe you two will soon be processed.

I called IRCC today, and they confirmed that my Background Check and Prohibitions were completed on September 11, 2026. I also asked my MP's office to follow up, and they confirmed the same update.

Security Screening Start Date: June 23, 2024
First Mandamus: May 2025 (later withdrawn) (Self Represented)
Fingerprints requested: October 30, 2025, they are valid till November 11, 2026 (as per GCMS)
Second Mandamus: August 17, 2026 (Self Represented)
Applicant's Record Submitted: August 27, 2026
No updates in the tracker.

is update showing on Tracker as well? I am wandering if not, maybe I should call and ask as well.
No, last update was in November 2025, it was ghost update for fingerprints, no update afterwards. It looks like tracker is not syncing with their GCMS database.
Great news, could you explain what do you mean by first mandamus and second mandamus? did you file for the mandamus yourself? did you apply for GCMS notes before that?
