Hello Everyone,

I received my AOR in 11th of Jan. 2018, and my online account got updated to "In process" in 27th of Jan. 2018. After that I have not received any kind of new updates on my online account, while I am seeing many people from Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Toronto, ... and many places in Canada have already received their test invitation or even have taken their oath!

I checked the processing time of some of applicants from Winnipeg in the provided spreadsheet and I am seeing most of them have had a very slow processing progress compared to the applicants form other cities.

What do you think about the applications sent from Manitoba, Winnipeg? It looks like this city has the lowest speed of application considerations compared to almost all large cities in Canada! Is that right, or I am just making a mistake?!

Any helpful comment regarding the applications sent from Winnipeg is appreciated.

I sent my application at the end of Oct. 2017, and am from Winnipeg!

Thanks,

Haven’t you heard about the infamous Scarborough fast in giving test and slow as a turtle when time for Oath. You have to wait a couple months for Oath unless you get lucky at the moment july and august applicants are getting Oath Invite.goodluck

Hey fam

Application sent: October 11, 2017
Application delivered: October 13, 2017
AOR: December 15, 2017
IP: January 23, 2018
FP request: February 8, 2018
FP done: February 13, 2018

I'm wondering is FP request has any affect on the process time, and when do you think I can possibly get the test invite?

I know it's vague and nobody really knows but Vancouver office doesn't seem to be so slow, my application is one of the only one taking so long :/:/
I have a similar time line but from Mississauga .. I got the FP from St Clair though .. I called after the FP by 2 weeks to make sure it arrived from RCMP and they confirmed it arrived but said they are in background check since middle of February I am waiting .. I dont know if Background check finished or not yet ! I travelled in the eligibility period over 6 months to my original country from middle east and provided FP from my original country .. would that be any reason for delayed BG or processing ?

My experience (St. Clair/Scarborough office) was that it didn't have any noticeable delay to my application. A positive hit on your FP from the RCMP could delay, I would imagine, but if it was clear perhaps you're just plagued by an extended BG check wait.
I got FP from St Clair too .. But I live in Mississauga .. I wonder how long BG will take I am in BG since I finished my FP for 2 months now .. What I saw with others that FP and BG doesnt delay test invite so I wonder why my test invite still didnt come ?

Could anyone help ...what documents to carry for citizenship exam?
From CIC website I found out we need to carry following things

Each applicant must bring the following:

  • their Record of Landing [IMM 1000] or Confirmation of Permanent Residence [IMM 5292 or IMM 5509], and permanent resident card (PRC), where applicable;
  • one other identity document that includes a photograph (and preferably a signature);
  • all passports and travel documents in the applicant’s possession; and
  • the original of all supporting documents (birth certificate, legal change of name document, etc.) sent with the application.
What supporting documents are usually sent out?

Hello ! I am new to this form and will be applying for Citizenship in a week, I have a question regarding the forms:

10 b) In the past 4 years, were you in another country (other than Canada) for a total of 183 days or more?
Plus checklist talks about that if you were in another country for 183 days or more during the past 5 years provide Police clearance certificate.

I moved to Canada in March 2018, and have not left Canada ever since do I need to provide a Police certificate Considering that I was living in another country before these 3 years?
If you moved to Canada in March 2018 probably you need to wait for another (almost) 3 years as your are not yet eligible to apply for citizenship. you need 1095 days in Canada for citizenship

good luck

If you apply now and last four years would be April 2014. So yes you need PCC.

time passed outside Canada was all in one country ? if yes than you will need police certificate.

Within the last 4 years, if you spent 183 days or more in another country (other than Canada), you must provide a police certificate. You must provide a police certificate for each country where you spent 183 days or more. If you cannot get a police certificate, tell us why.
Example 1
In the past 4 years, you took one (1) trip to France that lasted 200 days. You would answer “Yes” to the question and you would need to provide a police certificate from France.
Example 2
In the past 4 years, you took 10 trips to the United States of America (USA). Each trip lasted 3 weeks, for a total of 210 days. You would answer “Yes” to the question and you would need to provide a police certificate from the USA.
Example 3
In the past 4 years, you spent one year (365 days) working in Singapore. While working in Singapore, you took a trip to Malaysia (10 days) and Thailand (10 days). You would answer “Yes” to the question and you would need to provide a police certificate from Singapore. You would not need to provide police certificates from Malaysia or Thailand.
Example 4
In the past 4 years, you took one (1) trip to Europe where you visited Portugal (5 days), Spain (7 days), France (10 days), Belgium (3 days), Netherlands (3 days), Germany (21 days), Switzerland (7 days) and Italy (21 days). You took a second trip to Europe where you visited Ireland (14 days), Scotland (14 days) and England (21 days). You went to Germany for a business trip that lasted 60 days. The total time you were outside of Canada was 186 days but you were not in a single country for 183 days or more. You would answer “No” to the question and you would not need to provide police certificates from any of the countries.
