Has the form changed recently, as I see they are no longer asking for work records. In section 6F, there is no mention of providing work records anymore. So does this mean we no longer submit work records in the application?

Never have been required work records (only with RQ is required). The application form is May 2014

Yes you need to submit work and education records for the past 4 years.

Can you goto the CIC website and download the latest application form and quote me where does it say that it needs work records. Previously they said they needed, but now its no longer there. Seems like they changed the form. All they need is educational records. So what do we submit then?

I have submitted my application back in April and I don't recall submitting my work records also I don't see anywhere in form asking for work records

On top of the section that asks you for your employment and school history there is the small print that mentions that you will be asked to submit your records of employment if you mention your work history and also your records of education like transcripts and degree if you mention your educational history

Can you quote that. I can't find it. Its on 6F?

I think they have modified question 6F (to remove the part about providing emoployment records) without changing the version date (May 2014) on the form.

Yes, I do see a difference. The form used to say: "If you answered yes, you must provide photocopies of your work and/or your education records." The current version says: "If you answered yes to attending an educational institution, you must provide photocopies of your education records." I would suggest that you still include your employment records, at least if they show that you were living and working in Canada.

Yes I do have my Canadian work records, but the 1 year within the 4 year prior to becoming a PR. I don't have the work record. Any suggestions?

Well, you need 3 years of residence to apply for citizenship, so if you have 3 years of Canadian work records, that should do it.

Last line of Section 6.F of Citizenship form titled as CIT 0002 (05-2014) E, that is available on CIC website at the link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/citizen/CIT0002E.pdf
still says "If you answered yes, you must provide photocopies of your work and/or education records".

That's not what it says when I click that link. Maybe you're getting a cached version of the old form. Clear your browsing history and try again.

Yes, the form has changed silently. It looked like this then:

and now:

They are no more asking for work records, so you don't need to send it anymore. However if you are still attaching it for your comfort show the full four year period, i.e. three years of work records you have in hand plus mention about the one year period what you were doing like unemployed etc. Also mention this clearly in the cover letter too.
I am saying this because; you will be triggering a trouble/suspicion if you just mention the three years and keep silent about the 4th year.

Question 6F

Check the box in A and B to indicate if you have worked and/or studied in the past four (4) years.

You must list all your work and education history including English/French language training for the past four (4) years and must account for each month.

If you were not employed (i.e. you were unemployed, retired, homemaker, volunteering, etc. you must indicate this under “Work/Education”, and indicate the time period. Do not exclude any period of time during the past four (4) years. Do not leave this section blank. If you do, your application will be returned to you.

Thanks for the nice advise. So why did they change the form silently? Did they realise it was a mistake, bcoz no mention of work records in the GUIDE.

How does CIC determine, if you stayed in Canada for the past 3 years? Through work records? Just curious.
