Hello Everyone,
I wish all of you well and success with both your applications and plans for your life.

I'm scheduled to attend the Oath Ceremony and I can't find my original Confirmation of Permanent Residence, but I have a copy.

Do I need to present it?
Can I use a copy instead of the original?

Thank you

Take the copy ... they most likely won't ask for it

Thank you for the clarification.

I was reading the 2 attachments on my email and it had some conflicting instructions regarding the Confirmation of Permanent Residence.

They both however agreed on the Record of Landing being a MUST in its original form.

Thank you again for your response.

yes according to the oath invite it must be in the original form. But, many other forum members who have gone through the Oath process have mentioned that only PR card and oath invite are been checked. Please take the copy of COPR and try and explain to the visa officier (whoever checks you on the list) if they request it.

you would require COPR later on. you could request a copy from CIC for a fee. Good Luck!

I have not attended oath yet .. but i have seen a lot of people on this forum share their experience, they all say you need your pr card and passport.
So no worries

Plus what other choice do you have, requesting another takes months

They will not tell you to go home just because you don't have COPR
