Sent my application on 23 Dec from USA but UPS has held it in their office on 24 Dec and expected delivery date mentioned is Dec 29 because as per UPS 25,26,27,28 are holidays.

As per DHL website, they will be off only on 25 and 26.


Who knows what will gona happen in the next dew days!

My application package is with DHL and the status is

Wednesday, December 24, 2014 Location Time
30 Departed Facility in ONTARIO SERVICE AREA - CANADA ONTARIO SERVICE AREA, ON - CANADA 11:34

I understand that Sydney is a 5-hour drive from Halifax, so assuming that the package is already in Halifax, would get there on Monday the 29th..??

Keeping my fingers crossed that they receive my application and everyone else's application in due time

Is Mira Road same as Sydney?? for whatever reason my DHL AWB mentions Mira Road as the City, I looked online and found out that the 2 cities have a joint municipality, can someone pls advise if that is the case or do I need to call DHL and amend the address

In addition, I have couriered the application to the P O Box, is that OK or should I call DHL and change the address to the CI courier address??

Hi Mhussein,

If I were you, I will call DHL immidiately to clear things up. Maybe thats bcoz u used pobox.

CIC accepts applications via both methods but courier is faster.

Act fast and update us plz!

Per Canada 25 and 26th are holidays and 27/28 are weekend.

I hava a strong intuition that CIC may accept late arriving applications most propably until 5th of Jan.

No - they won't. December 31st is a hard cut off. We have seen how they handle many cut off dates before and applications received after the cut off date are always returned. It's a black and white rule.
