Nothing yet. How long does it usually take to get passport back after PPR? 30days?

Reading from the past it seemed like 20-30 days but i think right now we are all guinea pigs in the system that was paused for a couple months..

I know ABC was well ahead of us all but he went on vacation to China but seems to have stopped posting. I hope things are going well for him

I'm still waiting for the PPR although it went "in process" on Sept 10th. really hoping for before national holiday... When was your your package received at the Embassy? I remember you had to do some running around for that extra document.

Back in Canada now. Incredibly beautiful trip and reunion!

I agree with your speculation on the general pausing of the system in Beijing..., if our next set of notes, due to arrive on the 28th, again show no progress, I'll introduce myself to my MP here, and him to our case and total lack of progress since April 1st ::)

I will be hand mailing it to the Embassy mail window myself this afternoon.

With regard to PPR.., on a Feb.2014 Outland Spreadsheet, a guy KTCYYZ who hasn't posted here in quite a while (that I know of..) had his PPR dated as May 20, 2014 - with no further progress... would be great to hear any updates from him to give those who have recently gotten to PPR some idea of what to expect from Beijing

We ended up sending the missing doc and passport on the 12th and the Embassy signed the package on the 15th.

I guess I will hear from them in a month or so. Regardless of that the visa that will be attached to the passport would only be valid for 1 year starting from the day of the medical exam correct? I'm a little worried since her medical was done early last Jan. Maybe we need to extend it somehow.

on a fun note...

EMS charged me 1 yuan for their waybill... Now, i know its just 1 yuan, but what has the world come to. We now have to pay for the mandatory waybills their company uses as its own paperwork? ... You would think mandatory things would be included in the price.

Its like going to Yoshinoya and having to buy the little packet of hot sauce for 5mao when you already just spent 37yuan on basically gaifan.

On even another note, Where's everyone going to live in Canada? Interior BC for us.

@Kysorb
I have looked at your timeline and it says officialy transferred to Beijing office just few days after AOR1, so that means you received a letter AOR2 from BEIJING office or is there any other way of knowing it?
I'm an June Outland Applicant and after SA I got nothing to this day, should be expecting AOR2 or starting to get panicked?!

Any helpful answer would be appreciated. Thanks

No, don't panic.

I assumed "file transfer" was Sponsor Approval. There is no spot to add AOR2 (i will look for another way to put it in for clarity). I heard nothing from anyone between May 26 (Mississauga saying file transferred to Beijing) and Sep 9th (Beijing AOR2 saying we got it)

Edit: For anyone curious about how I now have an AOR2 line in my profile... This is what i put in my "File Transfer" profile line:

MAY 26, 2014 < br >AOR2 Received: SEP 9, 2014

In order for this to work you need to delete the spaces inside the brackets < br > that is the HTML code for a line break.

Hi.

We got PR early July and landed with no issues shortly after in Pearson.
Sorry for not updating as often but it has been crazy adjusting life here, learning English, finding a job.

The landing experience was nice. The officer was quite friendly and informative.
However, the logistics was not so nice. The line was long and people were asked to line somewhere only to be told to move to another room and line again to be eventually told that the first place we were lining up in was correct all along.
The interview lasted about 30 minutes but the officer was quite friendly and took the time to also tell us some basic info (such as how to get SIN and OHIP) All in all it was a smooth process (other than the lining up)

Good luck everyone.
If you have any questions let me know.

Wow - Your actual landing/meeting with the immigration officer was in Pearson? Not at Canadian Customs in a larger international airport?

Congratulation! Hope all smoothes out on the home-front for you and yours.., I really look forward to the "crazy adjusting" part of this long sleepy process ::)

Maybe once I get all the details ironed out I can begin a thread on how to settle... also a nightmare...

But for now, first steps should be:
- get medical insurance (CIC recommends a few on their website I believe)
- get SIN
- get library and bank account (new immigrant accounts don't seem like such a good deal so do some research)
- go to YMCA get evaluated for English level and go to day and night classes if your schedule permits to learn and adjust ASAP
If you register, they let you go to YMCA for wifi and resources and councelling but English courses are elsewhere like community centers
They also give you a welcome to Canada box. Don't bother. Our box was full of instant food and coupons with less than a month for expiry, so I am guessing the boxes were made around 2012. Surely they would not put chicken broth powder that only has one month left before expiry or TNT coupons that expire also in a months time :(
- go to Chinese community center. They also have bilingual courses (Mandarin - English) Haven't tried so not sure how good it is

Anyway, good luck everyone. Will try to check as often as I can.
