I've heard it can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 1 month for them to send it out. But that's just hearsay. I'll ask my wife to check some Chinese forums to see what others went through.

Thanks! My wife looked on her side (QQ) and she got many 2 to 5 days. It is why she is a little worry about it.

Hi mtang,

Which province do you live? :)

Yeah, I can understand the worrying. Did you double-check that your mailing address is correct? You could also try calling them, however, the last time I tried calling the Beijing VO, I couldn't figure out how to get to a live representative.

Good news this morning. We're really getting closer.

My wife's address was changed to mine at CIC while I was sleeping.

Next step is the passport delivery which should be at anytime between Saturday and Tuesday based on other stories.

No reason to worry anymore ;D!

How long does it take for Beijing to receive the application from CIC?

Also, do they update ecas once they receive the file, start processing and throughout the process?

For us, DM1 was received on May 29 and Beijing started processing on June 19. I don't remember if there were a delay between June 19 and the ecas update but it was not long time after if there were one.

A bit confused about your timeline - you received your AOR on May 29 or stage one approval?

They way I read your timeline is: you got your AOR on the 29th, then CIC advised you that you were approved (and file being sent to Beijing) on June 19th, and Beijing asked for passport on the 26th?

Sponsorship approval on May 29. File received in Beijing on June 19. They ask for the passport on June 26.

Wow, first off, congratulations to you guys who have completed the process. You guys are so luck to have it so fast in BJ. Here in HKG, the process is so much longer. Makes us so envious! ;D

And my wife's one since July 9.

Hi EdRickTaghan,

Just wanted to ask you had received anything yet? We're still waiting.
I've sent a number of email and faxes and finally did receive a generic response:

"The application is currently in queue for final review.
Please be patient, we will contact you soon."

They've had my wife's passport for 70 days now. DM2 isn't even showing yet on Ecas yet.

No development since the home address change in eCAS. We have to change our plan now. We were expecting a move on September 25 but it is not possible anymore as she has to resign for her job first. New plan is for October 23; just hope it won't take longer to get the passport!
