Hi Edrick,

Do you mind telling me the number of the QQ group, I would like to join that as well, thank you so much!

Yeah, I'd like the QQ group number as well.

Hi all

I am a bit confused by the processing of the visa application. Anyone can make it clear for me?

so the first step is the apply for my husband's sponsorship, after we get all the documents done, we send them to:

Case Processing Centre-Mississauga
P.O. Box 3000, Station A
Mississauga ON L5A 4N6

And once we get the letter from CIC stating that the sponsorship application is admissible.

We still need to submit another application using " checklist-Documents to enclose"? to :

Direction du courrier et de l'encaissement - Immigration familiale
285,rue Notre-Dame Quest, 4etage
Montreal (Quebec) H2Y 1T8
CANADA

so the second step is for undertaking application, and only after that, my file will transfer to HK. ( I am in GZ, china; and my husband is in Quebec)

Am I right? anybody who can share your experience will be much appreciated.

What you have to do is send the entire application all at the same time to CIC office in Mississauga. After your husband is approved as a sponsor, the office in Mississauga will forward your complete application to the Beijing or Hong Kong visa office.

Just make sure everything you send in is clear, detailed and thorough.

wow really good to know. because on the checklist it says there are two steps. And on the second checklist, it says you need to include the letter from CIC stating that the sponsorship is approved? That's why I am confused. So if my husband's sponsorship get approved, they will send all the documents with the letter of sponsorship approval for us?

Thank you again for your reply.

Have a nice day,
Cherry

I think you're correct, as long as ur following the guide, since Quebec sponsors need to obtain CSQ after getting approved from the CIC

Agreed. I was not aware that you were going to Quebec.

The QQ group number is 216873310; all talks in mandarin!

FYI, I heard from my wife that someone who submitted on March 7 received the approval on August 10 and passport on August 11 from Beijing.

Have a nice day

Thanks for the QQ group number.

wow, that's really quick. I heard that Beijing office is always faster than HK office. Unfortunately, I am closer from Hk. DAMN.

Sure, I post all my updates on here. They've had my wife's passport since Friday, August 10th, 2012. I'm hoping it's only another week or so until we get resident's permit. I'm really hoping it'll be any day now.

I wouldn't hold my breath. They've had my wife's passport since July 3, 2012 (over 40 days).
But who knows, they seemed determined to stretch our 'experience' out as long as possible.

And my wife's one since July 9.

Wow, that seems quite long. Strange how they asked for their passport so early. It cripples your wife for any international travel and seems to me they should ask for the passport only when they are ready to put resident's permit inside. I'm sure they have a reason for this, I just have no idea what it is.

...they have had my wife's since last week. We're trying to be as patient as possible, but it's hard to mask all the excitement. I've been in China for 6 years so I'm very ready to come home.

For us, we received our DM2 on August 20 and received nothing between that date and the one indicating document received (June 19) and asking for passport (June 26).

So you can easily think it will take 2 months before getting something based on this.

Hi everyone,

Still waiting for the documents (passport and hopefully the visa) since we've received the DM2 on August 20. Anything I can reference on to see how long we could wait when it is from Beijing?

It is a little bit stressful!

I've heard it can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 1 month for them to send it out. But that's just hearsay. I'll ask my wife to check some Chinese forums to see what others went through.
