My child has still not received her visa, after having applied on June 21, 2021. Re-medical - passed. Final result still awaiting. Sowp recd June 20, 2022. My child currently is in US on visitor visa with my parents and she has never ever stayed away from us and she is our only child. Not sure what can be done. Now it’s almost time for us to leave to Canada and she is sad that she’s not able to travel with us. Truly disturbing. Pls share if any lead, much appreciated.

Have you tried contacting IRCC via webform? Or your VAC via email?

Yes, still it’s same situation.
Thanks for your reply.

I'm not completely sure how it works but once you receive your Study Permit, your daughter might be able to reach the Canada's border by land and request her SP based on your SP given the fact that she is in the USA. As I said, not completely sure if this is feasible but you should look into it... also, keep contacting IRCC via webform. The other thing you could do is submit a new application and explain that you submitted one more than a year ago without any type of answer.

The child is not a US citizen so can’t just show up at the Canadian border and ask for a study permit. The child doesn’t even have a TRV.

OP - you may want to reapply if you applied in June 2021. The government asked people to reapply in September 2021 when Covid travel rules changed.
