We sent our application in the beginning of May this year. Wanted to check our status (if any) on the CIC website. Do you use the # off of your fee reciept??

Thanks.

You can log into Ecas with the 'R********' number on your receipt with the sponsor's details. As far as I know people get their dates from there, unless they are waaaay more patient than me and are waiting for letters/emails.
Once sponsorship is approved it should show on Ecas as 'decision made' and a letter will be sent to you. The next update will be when your local office starts processing and it will show 'in process'.
Lots of waiting & hoping I'm afraid!!

My husband and I have been using tracking to determine when our application/extra documents arrive at CIC. As for the dates, I was able to log into ecase using my receipt number (R********) and my information (sponsor name, date of birth, nationality) shortly after they approved me as a sponsor (just kept trying until it worked). It said a decision was made on X date and they sent me a letter. I had to wait for the letter to confirm I was approved.

Then we didn't know that Buffalo started processing my husband's portion of the application until he received an email from them on Sept 22. He received the letter, dated Sept 30, with detailed information in early October. Ecas just says that they started processing his application on Sept 22. Nothing updated since then. :(

yeah I've been checking the site but says they have no info on our account....it was sent in the first week of May.

Where did you send your application (eg Mississauga) and did you use a trackable service like Express Post or Fedex?

really? may? thats sketchy.. i would call to find out..
have you been approved as a sponsor at least?

Nope I havent heard anything yet....I guess I should start to worry ???

It was sent to the Vegerville office. I sent it Fedex and got notified it had been recieved (and saw it had been signed for). eeeeekkk

Just checked the website. It says for the first part of the assessment (sponsor assessment) that could take up to 9months. And I guess you cant check the status of that?? It shows on the website that you can only check the status of the 2nd part.

Inland takes much longer. You wont hear anything for (like you said in your last post) 9 months or so.
