CHC ISB applicant -- application finalized, waiting

Hello all,

I just thought I would send a couple of additional documents to the CHC today via e-mail, and they replied to me with a message saying that my application has been finalized and that my documents will be returned in the coming days.

I applied on June 20, 2011 through Gerry's FedEx in Islamabad. My application probably reached the CHC on June 21, 2011.

I got the medical call on July 28, 2011, had the tests on July 30, 2011, and the results were probably sent to New Delhi on August 5, 2011. I'm guessing the medical evaluation came back to Islamabad last week.

They've apparently made a really fast decision for me -- I'm hoping beyond hope that it's not a refusal. However, as we all know, there is no guarantee and these people can figure out some reason to refuse you if they want. But I'm trying to be positive and just hope for the best.

Also, I just want to say that this forum has become a real source of support for many of us here in navigating this harrowing process. Whatever the outcome of my application, I do hope to stick around here and help people with their applications. Pakistanis face some of the toughest screening processes in getting visas and we really should stick together and help each other out in beating the system.

Best of luck to everyone. I've learned a lot from the people on this forum, and admire people's resilience, hard work and tenacity here very much.

I was wondering how much time they take (gerrys/visatronics) to delivered you documents when your application has been finalized??any clue guys??

i also got medical on the same date as u did so might be documents return together also.

They told me today that the application is finalized.

Gerry's will call me the minute the documents are returned to them and I'll have to go pick them up. When the documents will be sent from the CHC to Gerry's is anybody's guess.

Simon Fraser University, PhD in Psychology, specializing in Developmental Psychology.

It's my first time studying in Canada, but I have traveled to Canada before, most recently in 2007 and 2008. I've also studied in the US before and came back to Pakistan after that.

I'll reveal the precise details of my case as soon as I know the outcome ... hopefully it will help others.

It is ur visa(God willing). Pls. be optimistic. It's not only the Pakistanis that face tough screening for visa to Canada,Nigerians also face tough measure. We all need to be by ourselves. I wish u well brov.

Well, we both done with our medicals on the same date...
So, there must be something for a lot more applicants, like me as well...!!

Acca, I agree with you, the Canadian process is tough on everyone. I actually also understand why it is tough (might make some comments on that later on). And ultimately, everyone has to learn to cope with the demands of this process. However, we've got a nice little community going on here at this forum, across different nationalities, even, and that's heartening and inspires courage in me and in others as well, I'm sure.

Inshallah it will be the Study Permit because I think if they had to refuse me they would not have called me for medicals and would have done so long ago. I'm going to try to be as optimistic as possible.
