Hey guys, I hope someone can give me some advice.

I have worked in Vancouver for the last 12 months on a UK working holiday visa. This expired on Aug 6th 2013. Shortly before, I applied online to change my status to a visitor, as I had saved enough to support myself up until October. I requested an extension upto October. However, due to the strikes at the visa processing offices, I have yet to hear back on the status of my request.

The problem I have, is that I need to go back to England soon as my funds are running out, but if I leave Canada, will that void my application to change to a visitor? I'm sure in the notes it stated that I can't leave whilst it is being processed. I don't want to leave now and wind up with an over stay of visa mark on me. I also want to apply for college in Canada in January, and I need to submit my application this month.

Any help in what I can do would be really appreciated.

Thanks

You can leave anytime you want, you are by no means required to stay in Canada.

You are legally in the country on Implied Status. Leaving now won't void your app and make you retroactively illegal.
