You don't need to withdraw from your studies after your claimed refugee status. BUT you will lose your student status once you are got a negative results of your refugee application.

Talk to lawyers before your apply.

yes you need to withdraw from your studies if you apply for asylum. Once you appy for asylum you can apply for both a WP and study permit.

This isn’t correct. You must stop studying if you apply for asylum because your study permit will no longer be valid.

There is an option for refugee claimant to apply for study permit. Refugee claimants are able to continue study.

OP is right and you are wrong. If you make refugee claim in Canada with valid temporary status, you are authorized to carry on with your studies until end of the authorized period. Thats the reason why they dont seize your temporary permits during eligibility interview if you have any. You keep it until it expires or after determination which ever come first. I asked IRCC Agent in person and she confirmed that. Read paragraph 3 copy paste

“Persons making a claim for refugee protection in Canada with an existing temporary resident status do not lose their existing status. These persons may therefore attend a short-term course of study without a permit so long as they complete the course within the period of their authorized stay”

Based on my reading and what you attached it looks like they can only pursue a short term course which is usually a course that is 6 months or less.

The point is you dont have to withdraw from your studies and you keep your existing status. Howver, you need to tick on your BOC that you need study permit if your studies is more than 6 months, and they will send you another permit. Or if your remaining study period is less than 6 months, you dont need to. Same applies if you have PGWP…you keep your status and continue working, but if it expires before determination, you apply one.
