Changing LMIA

I currently hold a closed work permit as a support staff (administrative position). I would like to inquire about the process for changing the LMIA associated with my permit to reflect a different position. can i change the LMIA to new position ? please advice.

So are you changing to a different employer or new NOC and salary with same employer. Google - change conditions of LMIA and have employer read it.

Hi! A closed work permit is always tied to a specific LMIA, employer, and job position, so you can’t simply “change” the LMIA to a new role. If your employer wants to move you to a different position—especially if it has a different NOC code, duties, or wage level—they would need to apply for a new LMIA for that new job. After the LMIA is approved, you would then submit a new work permit application based on that updated role. The only time you can keep the same LMIA is if the new position is essentially the same NOC and same job duties. Otherwise, a new LMIA + new work permit is required.
