Officially, such instructions are not retroactive, however since LMO can be refused for many different reasons and the process is not very transparent there is a chance a shorter advertisement period would be an issue. All you can do is to wait and see.

Un-officially, several lawyer firms advised their major clients to advertise for 4 weeks since end of 2011 so this is hardly a surprise...
