Sorry if I'm asking a question that has already been answered but regarding the 183 days outside of Canada rule, is this in total or at a time? I mean if the total amount of time I spent in another country is over 183 in the last 8 years, but never all at once, do I still need a police certificate from that country?

Thank you. Just to fully understand. If I submitted my application on Oct. 11, 2017 then back to Oct. 11, 2013,
The question is ,during this period of time, if I stayed in another country more than 183 days, I must submit a police certificate from that country. Now my concern is, I stayed from July 1, 2013 till Jan. 10 2014 in another country, do I still need a police certificate from this country?

Yes, you need Police Certificate from that country

Thanks
S.B

Hi

I hope it's not a repeated question.
It's regarding the police certificate. I haven't been out of the country since I came for more than 183 days. do I still need to do one for my stay in Canada itself like what I did for my PR ( I was in Canada before becoming PR ).
If yes I need to do one. Should I do it when I am sending the application or should I wait until they request it while the application is in the process?

Hi,

I apologize in advance for not very intelligent questions.

I'll be applying my citizenship in the end of October. I have been to back home for 13 days only in last 4 years. Do I need a police certificate?

And I have done masters from Canada as an international student in 2013, do I still need IELTS?

Thank you

I wouldn't take the chance, if they see something dated before Oct 11th, they might deny your application.
Personally, I don't wanna take the risk.

It is obviously up to you when to pay... But come on, be realistic... They cannot deny my application because I paid before October 11, 2017... This is some next level paranoia, man... I am going to sign my application on October 11, 2017 and that's all that matters... Payment is just a payment... I have just paid, btw... I am already eligible accordingly to new rules, so I don't see a problem...

I agree with Marceau here. Also, it is very far-fetched to assume that the payment system goes down. Every second, thousands of payments are processed by the internet :)

I do respect a lot of your posts, man, you really are a smart guy, it is obvious... But they CANNOT deny somebody's app because of the date they paid... Be realistic... People prepare in advance... So naturally...

thanks OP Dpen, also Hamilton guy.

they have been awesome, i have been watching C6 since day 1 on this site as outsider, we have been painfull ups and downs together and finaly Justice have been delivered for victims since many of us qualified 2016 under pre-c24.

i can finaly put this waiting Saga behind on 11.Oct when i apply and put monkey off my back.

Hi guys,
i'm not so sure about that 4 years police certificate. in my case for example, i became pr in may 2014 and haven't left the country since. october 2013 to may 2014 is still more than 183 days. considering providing police certificate for immigration, it doesn't make sense to submit another one. I believe as 4/6 changes to 3/5, that requirement should also change, i hope i mean.

Unfortunately it is not what you hope or want that counts :) It's the rules that count. And it seems like you will need a police certificate.

Let's not argue that in this thread but just respectfully recognize each other's opinions :)

Hi,
A quick question to all respected members:
My wife came as a dependent when we got PR 3.5 years ago and hence she doesn't need to appear for IELTS at that time. I heard if an applicant has post-secondary education and above with Medium of Instructions as English, then such person is expempt from appearing in English Test. My wife is an MBA from India with Medium of Instructions in English since Post secondary education. Does she still needs to appear for IELTS/English Test?
Thanks.
