Change of jobs in between, is it unauthorized if work overlaps?

Hi all, I switched jobs last year as I got an LMO from a new employer and I applied a new work permit through it. Last year, WP process was taking as almost 3 months to get through. So I dint let my old employer know about it till i got my new work permit issued.
I got my new work permit issued on Jul 25 2012, and I received it in normal post after one week and then I gave a 2 weeks notice to my old employer and joined new one on Aug 20th. So till then I was still working with Old employer.
I applied under CEC in Dec 2012 and received AOR.

My questions is:
1. Does CIC considers my work from Jul 25th till Aug 20 as unauthorized as I was working for a different company on different work permit?
2. Should I explain it in a letter and send it to CIO as a precautionary right away?
3. Does my old work permit gets cancelled as soon as they issue the new one?

Please let me know. I have seen cases of unauthorized work that makes me nervous.

As long as you were working on a VALID work permit, it is not unauthorized.

Thanks Jsm, Work permit is valid, but I worked for a different company than that is mentioned on work permit for a period of 20 days. This is because of postal delay and also 2 weeks notice that I had to give to my previous employer.
