To all champions members and to the peole who really understand whats going on on bill C-6. I was reading it pass and some people said it will be aproval by 1 July2016. My questions

1- Is that means the 3/4 years will be the law of citizenship.?
2- If not yet when its going to be the final reading after the Senate?

Pls do not answer me if you are not sure what i am asking

The current status of Bill C-6 is only at the concurrence of the report stage

It was clear from the very beginning that the Senate stage will be the most difficult stage because of the conservative dominance at the committee of the Senate which will work on the Bill.
The situation there is NOT friendly at all. The Senate didn't even started the pre-study yet.

Those who say that it will be approved by Canada day are only speculating, because the situation especially after this week is NOT supporting this Bill to get fast track approval.

I was also hopping this Bill to become a Law before the summer recess, but realistically the chances for that after this week events are NOT good. Most probably this Bill will be delayed for the Autumn - Winter session.

By the way, Bill C-6 proposes a 3/5 rule, not a 3/4 rule.

Still too soon to forecast when the legislation will be adopted, let alone when the 3/5 rule will come into effect.

The 3/5 rule is not likely to take effect for many months beyond the date the Bill is passed and becomes law. Near the end of the year is perhaps the most optimistic guess, but sometime next year seems more likely. But none of us knows when, not by a long, long shot.

approval is one thing. CIC/IRCC implementation of the rule is another. It would be very optimistic that this rule will actually come into effect before the end of 2016.

End of the year for C-6 to pass is pretty reasonable. I would guess that it is more likely than not.

It will be the best if it will pass and became a law by july. But if not at the end of year also is not bad lets see how its going to be its seems to be slow movement
