Hey!

I've searched through the forum looking for an answer but not much luck for my particular case right now. I have two main questions:

Last year i joined a startup company who had no payroll until Jan 2013, so as far as I understand, up until Jan 2013 my first 3/4 months of 'freelance' work experience won't count towards my 12 months needed for the CEC application?

The company is now changing owners and name, so as of this month i would be getting paid from a different 'company', it's still the same role, in the same building etc, but my paycheck would be coming from a new place. Would this transfer to a new company affect my 12 month full-time requirement?

Any help would be great as there isnt much info on this issue on the CIC website

Thanks!

Correct, freelance time can't be counted. But you can combine experience from different employers. You might need two letters tho, from the 'old' company and the 'new' one as proof of the over-all experience.

Toby,

Thanks so much for the fast response there! Great to hear that i can have multiple jobs in the application.

Is there anything else i need to keep in mind when applying for my overall experience? Pay stubs etc?

No, apart from the letters from all employers and the latest T4 and NOA, you don't need anything else. You could however
submit your latest pay-stub with your application to show your year-to-date earnings.
That's what I did.

Ok awesome thanks, will they accept a T4 without an NOA?

Sure, if you don't have the NOA. But you should've filed your taxes for 2012 already, and therefore you
should be able to send the NOA. If you can't check the document checklist for alternative supportive documents.

I'm slightly confused now, I will be applying in Jan 2014 with my 2013 T4 (Jan '13 - Dec '13), why would i need to submit my 2012 NOA which doesnt include any of my 2013 earnings?

Sorry for the questions

Because they're asking for the latest T4 and NOA, so if - by the time you apply, you don't have the 2013 NOA, submit the 2012 one, if you've worked in Canada in 2012. If you haven't then submit the 2013 T4 and your latest pay stub.
Refer to the document checklist for accepted supporting documents.

Most of us don't receive our T4s in January, usually February-March, so good luck with that.

You can add a note that you will send the 2013 NOA when you receive it.

Hey guys,

looping back in on this as i'm ready to apply.

My 12 months experience is: Jan 13 - Jan 14.

I will be able to supply a 2013 T4 and Jan 14 paystub, but not an NOA for 2013.

I will include a letter with my application stating I will send my 2013 NOA when i receive it. What address do i send it to? The same address in Sydney, NS as the application? and what info needs to included in the letter?

Thank you
