Well, the CEC does say you qualify under that class only if you finish 12 months of full time or equivalent part time work in Canada(which implicitly means that you did work using a valid WP legally)

In your case, if your employer gave you the letter on Sep 15 stating that you finished 12 months work with them, you should be fine, because you were legally allowed to work from Aug 2013- Aug 2014

Even if one were to lose their job(god forbid !) after finishing 12 months of work ex in canada, you can still apply through CEC,in my understanding your work permit expiry after 12 months of work has no bearing on your CEC application.

After Having so many confusions and waiting for AINP FOR 7 month I applied in CEC on 16th Oct. File received today Oct 20 and now m waiting for my AOR. I hope everything will work out on my way.. Hi there,
I am a bit confused guys and need your help friends.
I started working on 7th Oct, 2013 on my Off Campus Work Permit and my Post Grad Work Permit was issued on 24th Oct, 2013 which is going to expire on this Thursday. i am on Implied status.
I went back to India on an unpaid vacation of 25 days.
I worked on my OCWP for 17 days. Should I count those 17 days or not guys?

Work Experience is not counted on OCWP..However, experience gained after graduation is counted while you are waiting for PGWP. If you graduated on or before 7th october, then your experience will be counted. In your case i guess u graduated before 7th oct 2013. Therefore, it will be counted.

Vacations are couted but unpaid vacations are not counted.

You can do one thing. Just show continuous one year work experience. CIC will never come to know that you ever took unpaid vacations. They can see from the passport stamps that you went back to india for 25 days..But they cant figure out that the vacations were unpaid...

I took CELPIP G today. Overall It was good but a speaking section was little difficult. I will get result on Oct 16.
Let see what I get....

Agree Raj. I think the speaking test was the most challenging one for me too.. Got my score

Listening - 12
Writing - 11

Does anyone have details around bridging work permit? As I understand I am eligible for one if a) my WP is expiring in 4 months b) I have the AOR..

But can I apply for the Open WP on my own or I need to go through my company?

The guideline says "Note: If you are applying from within Canada or being sponsored from within Canada, this question does not apply to you. Go to Question 5." However I saw most applicants put CPP-Ottawa, so will my package be returned because of this?

OK but he/she is going to apply by the end of the year, t4 and NOA won't be available. In this case he/she has to send pay stabs for the whole period, so CIC can find thet he/she was on unpaid vacations. Am I right?

yes, you apply on your own. You don't need any company to do that. That's why it's called BOWP.

Hi Ray,

You dont have to worry for this. There is not a problem at all. I have see many people in forum who have left that field blank and still got the AOR. By default all applicants in canada will go to Ottawa. One of my friend quoted Buffalo in that field and file got processed in ottawa and he got his PR. So be cool..
