My question is, after taking the appointment for inland landing, if it so happens that I may have to travel out of country on business/personal reasons, will I be able to do landing at port of entry though I have a pending appointment for inland landing ? Or is it that, if we take an appointment then you have TO DO only inland landing ? In that case, one may need a valid visa to re-enter Canada to do inland landing.

OOO yes that shouldn't be a problem. you can flagpole even if you had an appointment. Just call them and let them know so they can give another applicant that time slot

I guess it will keep quiet for the rest of the week, there were only a few PPR and RPRF request on this Wednesday. I guess we have to wait till next week

Hopefully we'll see some action this weekend, like last weekend. Also, both the CA and Officer reviews of my file took place on Saturday afternoons (according to my notes), so it appears they're working weekends.

True, my medical request was decided by the CA on a Saturday afternoon, and the actual email came at 11 pm that night

Oct 3 applicant here. Waiting for PPR.

I had submitted my and my wife's home country PCC in March 2015.
Last month we went on a 4 week vacation to home country.

Will they request for another PCC? I hope not. That will delay the process by another 2 months!!!

After RPRF paid on 27th, Got mysterious second line added today in ECAS.

I got this line like 10 days before I saw "decision made", from my understanding this second line mean that your status is "recommended passed" , because when I called CIC call center after I saw "decision made" the guy told me that the notes on my application said "recommended passed", and he also explained me that until Ottawa will not issue the COPR / visa (if you are not from visa-exempt country) it will remain "recommended passed", and in that point they check last things on your application before final approval.
After I got an email from Ottawa to verify my home address I called CIC call center again and was told that the notes now saying "application approved" meaning that Ottawa already issued the COPR and sent it to my home address.
So really the last thing before you know that your application is got the final approval is the "address verification" email or "passport request" email for visa required countries.

From what I gather, visa exempt applicants residing in Canada generally don't get the address verification email prior to the sending of the COPR.

Probably you right, some people don't get the address verification email, but my point is that until Ottawa will not issue you the COPR it is not sure that you will get your PR
