Hi guys, just a small yet disturbing question, are we gonna be in the cap for October applicants? it looks CIC has already 3480 received while they are processing applications from 22 July. anybody cares to share some thoughts on this?

Initially CIC was accepting 12000 applications between NOV 9 2013 to 31 OCT 2014....However, this has been changed now.

The cap has been reduced to 8000 applications and extended the time to 31Dec2014. Remember, this is the last chance you have to apply under CEC before express entry launches in Jan 2015.

Also, processing of applications has nothing to do with received applications. CEC takes a year to process a file.

If you submit you file now, CIC will check the Cap...if they have the cap, you will get the AOR. Once you get AOR, it means you fall under the Cap. Then after that they will take approx 1 year to process the file.

I have already applied today and i want to be optimistic.

If 3500 applications are already accepted, we still have 4500 slots out of overall 8000. If currently 22 Jul 14 applicants are being processed, there are 15 weeks from 22 Jul 14 to end October. On an average if CIC accepts 300 applications in a week, we should fall within this 4500 limit.

Makes sense ?

yes, that makes sense.
in the spreadsheets from May to September, we can see 57 in May, 77 in June, 81 in July, 39 in August, 54 in September, it looks in July the application number peaks, so in the first 2 months and 20 days till which CIC has issued AOR, there are 3500, which means 1320 applications per month, if the number in spreadsheets do show an exact trend, in the following months number will be below 1320, hence we can assume that October applicants can fall in the cap.

I guess there is some confusion....The 3500 application which you are talking are actually those people who already received AOR..Generally AOR is received in a month after you apply...

So these are the people who applied around 1st week of September and already got AOR...We still have 4500 applications left...we all will easily get AOR....

Not sure from where this 22nd July data came from...

Yes, We will definitely fall in a cap of 8000. Even Nov beginning applications will also get AOR. That's what I think.

I don't know where July 22nd came ?

Yes can you please clarify why you think they are only counting applications received from the 22nd July in the 3480 received? Surely this represents the number of applications towards the cap of 8000 they've received to date? I don't know why I read these boards, there's so much misinformation put about that just causes panic....

8) Morning fellow October PR applicants !!

I just sent my documents through with Canada Post on Sep 29th so my application will only be received by Friday Oct 3rd.

I am tracking my application via Canada Post and will reach by Friday. Has anyone created a tracker yet ?
