Yep, that's mostly it! Once you get the portal credentials, you will need to:
  • Submit a declaration that you're currently in Canada (it's literally a check box, no big deal)
  • Provide your mailing address and a photo for the PR card
The next step is for them to review your declaration and generate the eCOPR. This will be a file you'll download from the PR portal. It won't be mailed.

Then, someone will review and either approve or reject your photo for the PR card. If they approve it, you'll get the card in the mail. If they reject it, you'll need to supply another.
Perfect!!!! thanks for the details :)

I tried searching for that in all my received forms but there are no VO details mentioned in any of my forms.
It should be right at the bottom of your golden email saying- "we are about to finalise your application....."

I am in shock... just got the first portal email. (Inland applicant.)

My journey is over, for now. (PR card aside, but I don't mind waiting for that as I'm inland!)

Portal 2: 2023-01-24, responded same day

I was very surprised to be one of the lucky fast apps. I sincerely hope everyone here gets their decision fast too. Sending you all lots of luck and support. <3

Hi all,

Please, I need a clarification on the medical exam request. I’m an inland FSW applicant, I did my medical exam in June 2019 and I only have the 2-page medical report form (IMM 1017) that IRCC sent to me study permit portal back then. I believe I am exempted from doing any medical exam.

Now, I am trying to upload the necessary documents for my PR application and one of the documents is the “Proof of Upfront Medical Exam”. What do I upload here? The same document that IRCC sent to me in 2019?

Hi all,
I am continuing my stay in Canada with an employer-specific work permit valid until November 2023.
My permanent residence (PR) application has been in process since November 2022 (I applied under CEC and did not claim points for having a job offer).
We have passed medical and biometrics, and the additional document status is "not applicable" (I did provide one additional document upon request recently; however, the status has been the same since IRCC made the request).
I want to apply for a bridging open work permit (BOWP) to change my employment.
- Can I change my employment when I file my open bridge work permit application (not wait for the application to approve and the permit to arrive)?
- Do I need to email IRCC for my PR application to update my employment status change?
- Would this employment status change and change in designation affect my PR application in any way?
I do not want to apply again for my family in my BOWP, since they already have their permits based on my current employer-specific work permit.
How should I respond to these questions?
- are you accompanying a family member who has status in Canada
- do you want to submit an application for a family member

My journey is over, for now. (PR card aside, but I don't mind waiting for that as I'm inland!)
