I have heard of cases where certain coming from certain locations requirements extra documents specific to that region/country, but the IRCC does not list them, and if you do not include them the application gets rejected. I have received my ITA and will be submitting soon, I just wanted to check if anyone has experience immigrating from New York, United States and may be able to confirm if there are any "extra" documents needed. Thanks!

All of the documents that need to be submitted are listed on the IRCC web site. If they require extra documents not listed on the IRCC web site, then they will request them.

Okay thanks for that. There was a case where my friend was missing a document that was unique to his state in Australia (something related to his driving record), and IRCC didn't explicitly list it on their website or his document upload portal, but then IRCC rejected his application and made him go back into the "pool" again, to wait for a new ITA to apply again with the extra document. So that's what I was worried about worst case.

This actually IS very explicitly stated on the IRCC web site. It's a special requirement for those applying who have lived or are living in Australia in certain states. Your friend unfortunately missed this requirement and that's why his application was refused for being incomplete. The error was entirely his. IRCC doesn't hide requirements.

See link below. There are specific requirements if you've lived in Queensland or Victoria.

Interesting, thank you. I'll make sure I do an extra check through all of the IRCC website again to see if it lists any special requirements like that above^

Thanks for your help!
