CEC - August 2014 application

Hi All,

I'm 'Aug 8 2014' applicant for CEC, living in Montreal - Quebec. Received AOR on Oct 31 2014. I have requested for GCMS 3 times with no major progress yet (No MR received) except seeing some notes by Officer that he sees most of the documentation fine except for a concern that I've been working/living with my spouse in Quebec (as CEC eligibility needs one to settle outside QC).

Recent development is that my employer is sending me back to my home country (India) by end of Jan 2015 as my Canada assignment is getting over. I came here on Intra-Company Transfer. My current work permit expires by April 2015.

I have few queries as -

i) Should I update CIC through an email that I'm leaving Canada for my home country? Will that help to resolve their concern (or future query) regarding settlement outside Quebec?

ii) I'll be eligible for Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) starting Jan first week. Should I apply for the same so as to explore opportunities in rest of Canada? Will it get approved before I leave Canada? Will it have any negative impact on my PR application (concerning point (i) above)?

Please guide.

I quit my Montreal based job before sending out the application package. My employer's solution to my concern was transferring me to their Chicago location, but I still quit and left Quebec.

Their only location in Canada is in Montreal and from what I could gather reading about similar cases in these forums, that's not good. CIC might be led to believe that once you get PR, you are going to return to Montreal and continue working with the same employer. CIC has become very strict about it lately. FYI.

Yeah, however, that would be a very bad move since you are not eligible for Quebec / RAMQ's health insurance under CEC application without CSQ.

Merry Christmas my fellow August applicants. Also wishing us a very pr and prosperous new year .
All indications is that we are going to get our applications completed early next year so please don't drink and drive, don't get in trouble with the law and walk around with a smile because they say "it is darkest before sunrise" and I feel we have already gone through our darkest and our sunrise is around the corner!

Posting in here to seek some answers! (Sorry if you happened to see me in Sep/Oct posts!)

I applied for CEC -PR on Sep end 2014 and then left Canada, been in India ever since.
I stayed in Canada since 2009 with gaps in between so I fell into the rule that prohibits one from getting in without a PR if they haven't stayed 12 continuous months out of Canada of preceding 36 months.
So, couldn't apply for a WP in whole of 2015 and my PR app, well you know how fast that moved.

The last update I had on my ECAS is when they updated my address from Canadian to Indian couple months back, had requested for same back in Feb.
Now since I completed a year out side Can, I applied for a fresh WP - with no mention of PR app. (bec' WP is employer driven and PR is personal).

Now today I see they have updated my address again with the addresses on my WP app, IMM 1295E!
Mind you there were cosmetic differences only, like when you say Ontario, Canada vs, ON, CA.

How come they were so prompt in updating that, word by word, from my WP - tells me has to be a robot.
So, are WP and PR apps connected? How could they, since my last UCI#, on which they gave me my AOR, has expired and thereby not mentioned in my new WP app?

Will they pull out both and scrutinize so far as to take action against the other? Does the law bar me from applying in 2 different ways - but that'll be so illogical considering WP is temporary in nature and PR is not!

Mind you, no emails nothing! Just the address changed from other app!! Somebody demystify for me, please!

Both the applications are handled by different set of people.

As mentioned above they all refer to the GCMS system for the information. So whatever is the latest information pops out of the system thats what they update and is reflected in ECAS.

The above information I received from the call center agent.

Also in one of my GCMS notes under the notes section it did mention about the issue. It stated the GCMS screen still comes up with the wrong information.

But now everything is fixed.

You can apply for a WP while your PR application is in process. Both the application will be processed as per the individual guidelines.

No they will not withdraw any of the application just for scrutiny, however it may happen if any of the information provided in the applications seems missing or violating any of the guidelines.

You will not receive an email if they make any such changes to your application.

The only place my PR and WP apps differ is the NOC. I was in 2171 before so PR has that, but my new WP is filed under 0213 Mgr category.

The explanation is there has been a year past and I moved roles, but does that create confusion/ questions?

Same is the case here. I am Aug 01 applicant and received Med request in Apr and nothing after that.
