Hi, I got Passport request today, can anyone tell how long is it going to take after I send my passport to CIC, because I am planing to go to my home country for 20 days and than re-enter Canada?

It should take only 1 weeks or max 2 weeks to return.

Can anyone help on the below please?

I'm Aug 2014 Applicant and got my medical request and completed. There are only 2 lines in ECAS and not having medicals requested date. I order GMS notes extract date - 6-Jan-2016.

In GCMS notes it states Criminality In Progress, Security Not started, Eligibility as Blank Doc Due Date is 04-Mar-2016. My current open Bridging work Permit is going to expire on 3-Jun-2016.

Below are my questions
1. Can I do upfront RPRF fee so that it can speed up the process? As my doc Due date according to GCMS notes is 04-Mar-2016 and if I pay this fee will it help in moving this step forward soon?
2. Where can I see the fee details and what are the next steps?
3. Children are <18 Years is there a fee for them too?
4. How long in general take for Passport request from Medicals completed date?
5. Can I extend my current work permit, I heard people saying that there is some eligibility status needed to get the work permit extended?

Hey,
Any idea of why CIC contacted your employer? To verify continuous employment? To verify job duty and NOC?
I thought old CEC only required 1 year of experience at the time of filing application, regardless of what happens after the submitted 1 year NOC 0, A, B experience.

They called to verify my employment duration (Part time & full time) and just asked my position in the company ( My reference letter had all the information though). They asked no. of employees currently working in the company, my wages per hour & how long the company is operating from? Is company still operating ?

Certainly sounded like the VO couldn't read, and asked everything that were already on any good reference letter. DAFUQ
My problem is our company HR is always away from desk, and what if VO decided to call and can't get hold of HR.

I was thinking CEC is based on your past experience.. why they are checking on your current job status ?

Don't know man... That's why they are hard to understand. You just cant imagine whats gonna happen next.

Probably VO did't trust a well written "Reference Letter", thats why he called to make sure. Unbelievable....

How did you come to know that CIC had called your employer?

Is CIC calling your former employer automatic, or they only do that when they have a doubt, if the reference letter isn't clear or anything...?

My Hr manager in my old company found another opportunity and left. I sent his information and he signed the letter when I sent the package to CIC. Should I send them a email to give them the new HR manager details?

i dont think its your problem who leaves at your company.. when and if cic calls they will be redirected to the new hr automatically.

CIC (From Ottawa, Ontario) called my employer just a while ago and asked few questions about my employment with the company. Really nervous now..

Is it a good sign? Any comment plz....

have you got the RPRF request? they we not get the PR request then our medical get expired ......then we need to do everything again...

You done your medical in 2014 ? right ? validity for medical is 1 year. As per my knowledge , CIC issue the visa till the validity of your medical... ??
