It is a "reassessment" of my medical. I did a bit research yesterday, and I think the reason for this reassessment is because my medical from last year is going to expire.

That means that the VO will request the Health Board in Ottawa to extend your medicals. Once that is done, they'll likely request for your passport. Best!

Prutus, the email specifically requests for additional medical tests, including a new chest x-ray. So I don't think it is an extension. Anyway, am going to do it as soon as possible. Hopefully this is the last hurdle before passport request!

I now understand. Yes, go ahead and do the tests and send results immediately. All the best to you.

Hello!

Landed safe last Saturday. All went great and was pretty an easy going exercise. Officers were wonderful and very willing to answer questions within their competences. All the best to the rest of you.

Hi, and congratulations on your safe entry and landing. Did you apply from the USA and did you have anything that accounted for the time to visa issue to take so long? I am trying to familiarize myself with the wait time after medicals have been received.

Many factors are at play. It depends on how they prioritize applications. Last year they prioritized it differently to this year, based on last year's timeline I was supposed to get DM in march, so it's very difficult to say. The only thing that you can estimate when you get your PPR is if you find someone who applied around your date & they are from the same province as you (each province has separate VOs). They definitely do the applications as batches, so if that person has an update you're likely to get one in the days or weeks that follow.

Thanks. Like Dior said, it's difficult to tell. Strike was a major delay factor last year. The backlogs too played a major role. I was also asked to redo medicals after visiting South Africa from the USA for 6 months. I applied from USA.
Best to you all!

OH I see!!! Thank you. So here is my timeline so far

CSQ received: October 18th, 2013
PR application filed received: December 11, 2013
AOR: January 29th, 2014
Medical requested: January 29th, 2014
Medical done: February 12th, 2014
Medical received: End of February (Did not check e-cas for a while)
RPRF paid: May 17th, 2014

I paid the RPRF after receiving an email reminding me that the fee was outstanding. I did my medicals in Cameroon but I am presently in the USA do you think that will matter? I am wondering if the number of months I have to wait start from AOR or from Medicals received. It will greatly help me plan my activities. Thank you very much for your input. I am appreciate it.

bubblyhead, So far as your medical results have been received by the office dealing with your case, I do not see any problems. Your processing time is counted from the day your application was received by your visa office. Did you apply from Cameroon or the USA? We are all here to help each other especially as there is much of uncertainty that is involved. You need plenty of patience with hope that your passport request comes even sooner than expected. All the best to you and all others waiting for their turn.

Thank you very much. I was just worried they would request another medical test since I applied in the USA but did the medical test in Cameroon. My visa office is CPC-Ottawa. I see very long wait periods on others' profiles and so I must wait too.

Hi yakkar, Congrats! All the best with your future endeavors and thanks again for inspiring the creation of this trend. We hope all others reach the end of their "turnnels" soon! Best!!!

Thank you Prutus for making it happen. I have a question for you how long did it take Ottawa to send back your passport. Mine is with for a little over a week now.

Yakkar, sorry for replying just now. It took one week for my passport to reach me. I guess by now you should have received yours. All the best with your future endeavors. Best to all!

Thanks you are right it took a week as well. I just came back from the US Montreal border- Champlain/lacolle. My landing went well, I would like to thank you again for setting up this forum. I also would like to seize the opportunity to encourage all the forum participants to get a bit patient and to go on on your lives as the process takes place. The process is lengthy for most people, it can easily take 2 and 1/2 years to come to an end and sometime even more. But guess what there is an end and that is the good news. So my advice is get a complete application reply very quickly to any request from CIC and go on on your lives !!!!Good luck to all of you waiting out there.
