How long does it take to get a GCMS report. I'm wanting to order one for myself, but i'm thinking maybe not worth it if it is going to take months to arrive

Yes, Harvie is right. I have seen few instances where it took abit longer but they have to answere within 30 days. I too was very reluctant in ordering a gcms note, but I think it wont hurt. I have been waitingfor almost a year now and it my last email exchange with them they said that they received my application in January which is not accurate. So let see may it bring some clarity about my application...

Thanks for organizing this forum. It is very informative. I'd like to contribute my timeline here:

QSW selection: Dec 5, 2012
Application received: March 4, 2013
Medical results received: June 16, 2013
In process: February 28, 2014

From the posts I've read here, it seems that it will take about two and half months to reach "Decision Made" from "In Process". Hopefully a decision will be made soon! Thanks again, everyone, for your helpful contribution to this forum.

Welcome jeffh628 and thank you for sharing your timeline. Here is my guess for your application. You will receive a PPR by the end of this month probably on Friday 28th . I think Ottawa will rap up the 2012 applications by the end of this 1st quater 2014.
Please if there is any other December 2012 applicants (especially outland) chip in, just register ad share your timeline.
Thanks to all...

Thanks very much, Yakkar! I certainly hope this will happen by the end of this month! Am very curious how you get the sense that Ottawa is speeding up the process of 2012 applications? Your application has been "In Process" since early November, right? Wish you will get the PPR soon!!

Here howI came to that conclusison. There was a quite period for outland applicants (from CPP-O) around the time they finished the backlog from Buffalo (basically late summer 2013). This left all the Jun July september and so on 2012 waiting for all most (2 3 months with no changes). Then since November 2013 , I have noticed many of those applicants were getting DM or at least some kind of Doc request. Ottawa usually take a pile of applications in quaters (thre months) before they dropped and back to silence. I kind of sense that they are on that last quater (2012) pile of outland applications.
Given now the progressions I have seen in this forum and the PVTiste forum (french one), they gave some DM and PPR on November 2012 applicants in late February 2014 (it was the case also in December 2013 for october september 2012 applicants)
I predict (I might be wrong) that most Dember 2012 will receive DM and PPR by late March 2014 and unless they dropped it again, the next batch of applications that would be moved would be the first quater of 2013. And here again my prediction would be if you are an outland applicants frist quater 2013 (Jan-March), you should be receiving DM or PPR by the end of summer 2013 and that most likely the processing time will fall to around 15 to 16 months with next update(which is well over due).

Yes my application is "in process" at least since november according to an email exchange with CPP-O; I come to know that it is meaningless for US applicants in terms of predicting a DM or PPR date. It just means that the application is complete and is waiting for an agent to check through the file it can take up to 8 months. In process for inland applicants (they tend to have that quebec experience which seem to influence to some extent the processing speed) in most cases will be followed by a DM within 2 to 8 weeks.

Thanks very much for your answer, Yakkar! One clarifying question: my QSW selection was in December 2012, and my Federal application was received in March 2013. Which pile of applicants do I belong to: last quarter of 2012 applicants, or first quarter 2013 applicants? By the way, am applying from the US or a US applicant. Thanks very much again!!

Oh! Ok! So it seems that AOR date put you in the first quater 2013. When I say US applicant I mean applicant from the US.

Thanks again, Yakkar! Btw, I just got an email telling me to send them a new FBI certificate and update my personal history. It seems that they are finally reviewing my application. :)

Indeed that's a very good sign. You might got a faster processing and sometimes it is due to the kind of job you are doing "high demand field".

I did my landing few days ago. I am finally a PR now !!!
;D ;D

I was an inland application and CIC took more than 2 years for my application. I kept emailing CPP Ottawa and they kept pulling attitude. They sent me same stock answer for all my emails. Everyday I come across many recent PRs, in my understanding the PR processing time can greatly vary based on your gender ,race, ethnicity, nationality etc. etc. I know communities where average processing time can be as low as 1 year even without degrees/diplomas. To all potential PRs (and current PRs) thanks for your help and advice particularly in this thread. I wish you good luck in your future endeavour. ... And don't forget to raise your voice to make this system fair and efficient for everyone.

Hi everyone, is there anyone here who has obtained a FBI police certificate from Montreal. Can I put a Fedex return envelop in it to make it faster and would it make it faster?
Any tips in avoiding that 6 to 8 weeks before receiving the Police certificate.

I also got that doc request which I believe comes around the 1 year mark. Recent history and Police certificate from the FBI. And they asked me to submit by jun 2014 which seems to confirm what I thought earlier.

So please if you are December 2012 applicant (AOR 2012) just chip in. Also if you are January 2013 you will probably get DM, PPR in April 2014, please let us know if you do.

Good luck!
