Please can someone analyse the applications received numbers from these 2 sources.
1.From CIC as at 9th Sept 2014,applications received equal 2761
2.On the forum spreadsheet as at 9th Sept 2014,applications received equal 2258
IF CIC figure is greater than SS figure,what can we infer from this?
What signal does this send across to applicants about capping issues and immediate
actions that must be taken by applicants?
I will be very glad if we can get explanations to this mathematical puzzle by the seniors or members of this forum

Two points:
1) Forum doesn't represent 100% of the applicants, more like 25-30% of all applicants (based on 2013 figures), so this number will always be lower than the actual numbers.
2) The numbers from CIC does not represent the total number of applications they have received. Their numbers most likely represent the total number of PERs issued (that is, complete applications they have received). So, this number will also always be less than the actual number of applications CIC has received.

So, for cap purpose, the figure that most closely represents the true condition is the projected total applications received by CIC calculated in the spreadsheet for 2014 applicants in this forum. It is based on this calculation that we can infer 2174 is probably a gonner because based on the number of forumites that have applied for this NOC and adjusting for the fact that it represents 25-30% of all applicants, CIC has already received more than a 1000 applications even though CIC's numbers don't reflect this.

This is called for so that people with highly demanding NOCs
can start thinking of EXPRESS ENTRY rather than wasting time and resources to applying under FSW 2014.

Also,this will adequately guide those that are yet to submit on
the need that they should be proactive about submitting under
FSW 2014.

I hope this will clear a lot of issues around capping and will be of
immensely benefits to forumites and other potential applicants.

Would you recommend sending my application now? Also are the rules changing in Jan 2015?

It's too late to apply under 1112. The number of applications received on the CIC web site only reflects the applications CIC has opened and accepted - and they are still working on applications received in late May. So you are too late.

guys CIC updated caps. its 3510 out of 25000. 747 up highest till date.

I once predicted in this forum that some NOCs were already capped around June,2014
but a lot of members disagreed.
Now the reality is that some of these hot NOCs were capped in June and July,2014.
If you are NOC 2174,you should be among the lucky ones if you submitted in June 2014
but the truth is that July,2014 applicants for this NOC will have little or no chance of making it.

WARNING ON CAPPING AND ACTIONS TO BE TAKEN
Don't submit to these 3 NOCs again rather prepare your application for EE.
The reality is that these 3 NOCs-1112,2173,2174 were filled up since
mid-to late June,2014.
Be careful with NOCs 2131,2132,2171,1111 and 4011-If you are yet to submit
act as fast as you can but for 2131,2132 start preparing your application for EE
as these would have been capped early sept.2014 but if you still want to take the
risk you can try as there is no problem in trying.
For other NOCs,don't be panic but act quickly at submitting your application.
