Thanks for that..I see for 2171 all roles are like analyst and cunsultant, My wife has 2.5 years of exp in total, in develpoment and testing.
Any specific number of years experience required to apply 2171? Can I apply under 2171 with 2.5 years of exp? Visa officer accept it?Please suggest
Because my wife has good IELTS scores!!

Hi Venu

You need to go through the FSW Eligibility segment that clearly answers your questions.

To give you a brief idea, you need to have a minimum of 1 Year in full time or equivalent part time paid and continuos experience in any 1 of the 50 eligible NOCs to qualify. Additional work experience in any other eligible NOCs or skill Type that falls under Skill level 0, A and B can be used to accumulate points.

I doubt it will be linear. The problem with the IT NOCs is that you have a option to chose between the 5 NOC, since their roles are inter related and most of the senior guys played at least 2-3 NOC roles in their career. So based on the trend one can switch to which NOC they will apply. For example, I at first thought about applying to 2173, but after seeing the trend in SS and the CIC site, I decided to go for the 2171. This is generally true for most of the IT professionals. So what I am basically saying is that IT NOCs will be filled up more systematically and will be evenly distributaed and it is easy to say which NOC apps are going to CIC at this month. Now that we have some idea on the top 2174 and 2173 NOC, I bet current application that are reaching CIC will be mostly on 2171 and 2281. Next on the line will be 2172.

Well, there are 2 facets to your question. First - you need to decide which NOC fits in to your Duties and Experiences, present and/or past. I am assuming you do not qualify for all the 4 NOCs ?

Secondly, If I did have an option, I would forget 2174 and try and keep distance from 2173 as much as possible.

2171 is decent and 2172 is the safest.

It basically means a NOC will take a maximum of 1000 apps. This is because not all 50 NOC are equally popular. So 25000 is the max limit for all the NOC and 1000 is the max limit for a particular NOC. So for example if NOC 2174 got 1000 application by the end of September they will stop processing that NOC 2174 even if the total apps count is something like 7000. On the other hand if the total apps received reached 25000 and there is less number in NOC like 2172 they will stop processing those apps for that NOC that came after 25000 cap reached.

guys how long does it take to get response from CIC for application sent on 17th july? and guys plz clear me one thing, the number of cap filled shown on CIC website is based on application reached to them before september? if the cap is about month of May then why dont they write updated on XXX date of may. so that we get clear picture.

You will probably hear from CIC anytime from Nov. for application
sent in July.
