Hello, I am Canadian born citizen who lived in Hong Kong from 2007-2013. I had 2 daughters born there, and my wife and i went through the process of getting their proof of Canadian citizenship and temporary Canadian passports while i was there. I am now in Canada, while my wife finishes her nursing contract in Hong Kong, and we found out she is pregnant and due in November.

My question is, is it possible if im not in Hong Kong and am in Canada to apply for our newborns Canadian status , and is it possible to get a temporary passport so they can come to Canada shortly after they're are born without me present in Hong Kong? She doesnt have her PR card yet, and we've never applied for it.

Thanks
