If you are just starting the process, I would recommend paying the entire fee (if possible) as it will lessen the risk of delay further down the road. I cannot help with the how to in Hong Kong part thought, sorry! I am sure others will reply.

You don't pay in Hong Kong. If you read the website, it said you have two ways to make payment:

1) Pay your fees online (preferred option). Include the receipt in your application and send to CPC-Miss.
2) Pay your fees at a financial institution in Canada. You will need an original receipt mailed to you, which can take two to three weeks.

Later, you can post your timeline here:

steaky, thanks for reply.

I read the website and wanted to pay online.
When I access, I need to enter the registered address of the credit card.
My card is issued by Hong Kong HSBC , and no postal code i have.
And I can't pay without a postal code.
Any advice for my case ?

In that case, your other way is to pay the fees at a financial institution in Canada. Have you contacted HSBC Hong Kong to help you with this? Or you could ask someone if they have a Canadian or American credit card who is willing to make the payment on your behalf.

As steaky says, try to find someone else to pay on your behalf. Does your husband in Canada have a card he can pay with? Or a friend or family member? You can give the cash to them and they can pay with their card.

If that isn't an option, your husband can purchase a prepaid credit card in Canada and pay with that.

And if you can, definitional pay the full $1040 upfront. If you don't pay the RPRF, CIC will have to request it from you later on and that will delay your app.

By the way, if your mailing address of your Hong Kong HSBC credit card is in Beijing, you could use the postal code of your Beijing address instead.
