Hi guys,
Please need ur advice
We filled our first taxes,we had a tax return and some days ago we received a letter asking from us providing some proof for the money we converted in canadian dollars from my country,so that we may be entitled to have again an amount back.
My question is what kind of proof i can provide?
I have only what they gave me from my country showing the amount converted in cad but its in my mother language,not in English!
Would they accept it?
When we stopped at Toronto we declared the money but the officer didnt give me any paper,he said that he will send the papers we filled to department he has to.
What would u advice me?

That doesn't make any sense, the money you bring with you before you live in Canada has no effect on your taxes. I suggest you call the CRA.

I got the same letter.

I wrote a letter, stated my world income prior to coming to Canada in 2015, signed the letter, and submit it online. I called CRA and the processing will took 8weeks. They will contact me if I need any other documents.
