Hi
I have spent 9 months in total in Canada and my PR expires by end-September 2021. I am still in India and due to cancellations of flights am unable to go back to Canada. I already have a job which had closed operations just before pandemic in Mar 2020. Now the ops have resumed. Can I apply for extension of my PR expiry date?

PR doesn't expire. Do you mean your PR card expires?
When did you land? And if you want to enter after your PR card expired, you need to apply for PRTD. You need to meet your RO to be grant the PRTD.
If you don't meet RO, you may be still get PRTD if you can provide H&C reason. (e.g. someone dying at home and there's no one else to care for him/her)
Otherwise, some suggested to return through US land border. You will only need COPR and your passport to enter the land border.
CBSA may or may not report you if you do not meet RO. In that case, you need to have US visa and only when US open up their border for ppl that transit to Canada. (not sure about the current requirement)

You should be aware that if you got married or had children even if you enter without being reported you’ll need to wait until you are compliant with your RO (2+ years) before you can sponsor them. If you also enter via the US without being reported you’ll need to remain In Canada without leaving for 2+ years.
