Well it can't be an assistance check or anything. It's addressed to my husband not me so I didn't open it, and he's out of town until tomorrow so I don't know WHAT it is exactly but it was delivered today... maybe I'll open it. What's his is mine, right? The anticipation is killing me :P

Sure! Whats his is yours. My wife works the same way :P

Thought I would let you know what CIC-M told me today.

That Mississauga is holding all letters. Meaning they are not sending anything until the strike is over.

But she told me that if the online date for processing gets to or past the date my app was received, I can call and find out their decision.

So not all bad.

You mean: until the lock-out is over?

yes lock-out or strike the result is one: no mail. but i know lockout is worse. the strike that the workers were doing seemed to me pretty light.

yes, the workers have been locked out!
my wife had to go in with colleagues for 5 hrs voluntarily to process the welfare cheques...
the media doesn't seem to be presenting an unbiased view on this situation

any ideas when Canada post's going back to work?

I am so sufferring :-*

They are still bargaining with government. They said by Friday or thursday this week everything will come back hopefully.

I am suffering too. My application got stuck in Mississauga since June 8. It seems like the hope I had 'no more left in me".
I will remember canada post forever for this much suffer.

Please try to think positively. Feeling depressed and frustrated is not going to solve or put an end to the situation you are in. Try to think of it this way, things do get stuck sometimes but thats life: you cant have everything your way all the time . They happen for a reason and have a way of turning out just fine.

I hope Canada Post will come back to work by the end of this week or the beginning of next week.
I will try to think possitively and patiently wait.

Thank you.

I have a quick question, can we send immigration paperwork threw UPS or Fedex? For some reason I didnt think we could but I could be way off.

Thanks Mel

Yes, there is an alternate address to send the applications via courier. I don't have it at my fingertips but someone here I sure will have.
