All of these papers for immigration will get messy if they open up the package and they fall onto the floor. Can we staple them together? It doesn't say they can't. Can someone who has sent in their papers comment please?
Thanks!

I would NOT staple just use paper clips, I used binder clips. It is very likely that they may want to scan your paperwork and staples would create problems. I would not make things more complicated for the immigration officers by putting staples in. Just stack the papers together and binderclip in different sections. I made 3 sections sponsorship, PR, and supporting evidence put each in a seperate vanilla envelope, labeled outside of each envelope with the contents and binder clipped the 3 envelopes together. Good Luck

Definitely use paper clips, not staples.

NO! Elastic bands work perfectly as well.

I know and I can't understand it because if you look at every other type of application, they say DO NOT STAPLE. The visa posts hate staples. But they won't refuse you because of it so don't worry. You've just annoyed some clerks.

We didn't see anything saying 'not' to put staples. It's just the general consensus that using them is an irritant to the Officers because they may want to photo copy this or that. I don't think it'd be a big deal, they likely have to go through it alot and likely will just use a simple tool to take out the staples so the papers will be free. They aren't going to give any grief because those were stapled together, if they did, they'd have to do it to thousands I bet.

But having posted this question, and seen the replies, my wife and I are going to use paperclips or another method and forego the use of stapling. :) Thanks again.

I used rubber bands and bulldog clips on mine, as I had thought it said somewhere not to staple, although I may have been mistaken...

We did not staple.
I think somewhere it is written not to staple your documents.
Best use paperclips, rubber bands etc.

I did read somewhere not to staple....not sure where though.

But I doubt anyone has been refused because they stapled their application.

Same with me. I read somewhere that you're not to staple anything as well. I just used paperclips and rubber-bands, and put all the forms into clear protective sheets with post it notes on the front explaining what was in each one.
