Can protected persons/conventional refugees apply for Permanent Residency under Express Entry

Hi Guys,
Does anyone know if conventional refugees/protected persons can apply for Permanent Residency under Express Entry?
I have already applied for PR under refugee/protected person class. It takes forever to get a result from this class. I am also eligible for express entry. Can I make a parallel application under express entry?

Have anyone here tried this before or heard anything about such a case?

No - you cannot.

To apply for EE from within Canada, you must have valid status in Canada. As someone who has sought refugee status, you're viewed as being without status in Canada.

Thanks for your response. You mean even refugees with a positive response from IRB are considered as being without status in Canada?
