Hi, everyone.

I have a close work permit which is 2 years permitted.

And I'm currently working in Canada but unfortunately I'm not that good at English.

So I just want to improve my English.

And then I was thinking of taking part-time ESL courses at some university (2 days/week, and probably 3 months.)

Buy my work permit shows

UNLESS AUTHORIZED, PROHIBITED FROM ATTENDING ANY EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION AND TAKING ANY ACADEMIC, PROFESSIONAL OR VOCATIONAL TRAINING COURSE.

So that means I can't take ESL program?

Please help me.

Hi..yes you can take any course which is short term (We call Continuing Studies) not regular year basis.

I did one course from UofT.

Thank you Kiranmayi!

I just wanted to take ESL courses but when I saw the work permit, it freaked me out.

Thanks again!

Hi! Yes, you can. I finished levels 5 and 7 within 8 months, didn't have any problems.
